Seniorlink wins 2018 Caregiver Friendly Award from Today’s Caregiver Magazine

BOSTON, July 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Seniorlink, Inc., a tech-enabled health services company transforming care management in the home, received the 2018 Caregiver Friendly® Award from Today’s Caregiver magazine. The award recognized Seniorlink for its Thank You, Caregiver Nation campaign, an initiative to raise awareness of, and honor, the 16 million family caregivers nationwide caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s Disease or a related dementia.

“Caregiving is not for the faint of heart.  Providing care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia can be particularly difficult, and the stress and isolation can be overwhelming,” said Thomas Riley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Seniorlink. “Thank You, Caregiver Nation reflects our commitment to family caregivers and our desire to increase recognition of, and support for, these unsung heroes.” Riley continues, “It is an honor to receive this award, and an absolute privilege to support family caregivers nationwide.”

In November 2017, Seniorlink launched Thank You, Caregiver Nation with the “My Wish” video. This video captures the story of Pam Montana, a woman diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s; Bob, her husband and caregiver; and Pam’s wish to have family and friends not forget Bob as they battle Alzheimer’s together. The video generated over 500,000 views, hundreds of heartfelt comments, and recently won a New England Emmy for outstanding Public Service Announcement.

The campaign also prompted 3,000+ caregivers to join Caregiver Nation, Seniorlink’s private Facebook community (www.caregivernation.org), where caregivers can connect, share, vent and motivate each other on the challenges of caregiving.

“Seniorlink embodies the true spirit of this award, which recognizes outstanding companies, clinicians, authors and others who have dedicated themselves to supporting family caregivers,” said Gary Barg, Today’s Caregiver magazine’s Editor-in-Chief.

Caregiver Friendly® Award winners are listed on the caregiver.com website and will be announced in the November/December 2018 Holiday Issue of Today’s Caregiver magazine.
