Leading Local MA Publication Features a Letter from Seniorlink Account Manager Denise Powell in Support of Family Caregivers and People Living with Alzheimer’s Disease
On June 28th, “The Patriot Ledger,” a news source for Quincy, MA, published a letter from Seniorlink Account Manager Denise Powell encouraging locals to reach out in support of the family caregivers in their community.
Powell’s message calls for recognition of the growing prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease, a devastating public health crisis that persists even as most states ease COVID-19 restrictions. She writes this letter acknowledging that June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month, a time of heightened recognition for the issues that impact people living with Alzheimer’s disease and their families:
In Massachusetts, more than 130,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s and being cared for by thousands of unpaid caregivers – typically family members or friends. Please take a moment to honor and support these family caregivers who make it possible for their loved ones to live safely at home and within their communities. Reach out in whatever way you can and let these committed caregivers know they are not alone on their caregiving journey.
