Seniorlink recognizes family caregivers during National Family Caregiver Month

BOSTON, Nov. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Seniorlink, Inc., a leading tech-enabled health services company, is launching the #thankacaregiver campaign to raise awareness about, and increase supports for, family caregivers. The campaign is part of Seniorlink’s ongoing “Thank You Caregiver Nation” initiative created to recognize and honor family caregivers for the remarkable work they do caring for their loved ones.

The #thankacaregiver campaign showcases the wide variety of emotions and experiences that are part of the caregiving journey. Seniorlink has created and curated a collection of art, videos, essays, and even a song inspired by and for caregivers.  A piece from this collection will be shared daily throughout the month of November, National Family Caregivers Month.

“Family caregivers are the heart of our health care system, and yet many know so very little about the remarkable work they do,” said Thomas P. Riley, President and CEO. “This campaign was created to highlight their commitment, call attention to their joys and struggles, and to help others understand their value.”

The #thankacaregiver campaign kicked off on November 1st with a heartfelt letter to family caregivers penned by Riley, and featured as a full-page ad in the Washington Post.  Other examples of new work to be released during the campaign include a new song “Just Call Me,” written and performed by Ryann Murray and Joe Freda.

After #thankacaregiver closes, Seniorlink will release an e-book containing all of the campaign’s content as a tribute to family caregivers. Content will be released daily at www.seniorlink.com/thankacaregiver.
