“My best advice is to take one day at a time, and when you can't, take one hour or one minute at a time because caregiving is hard.”

Frequently asked questions.

What does the program cost?

Our program is free to you. One of our programs is an alternative to nursing home care and is often referred to as “structured family caregiving.” It is covered by Medicaid, under certain waivers and is of no cost to the individual. Careforth services Medicaid-eligible individuals and their families in select states, as well as members enrolled in Medicare Advantage, and their families, nationwide at no cost to participants. As a program participant, you may be paid money to help offset living expenses while you focus on providing care.

Can I get paid to be a caregiver and how much money could I receive?

Yes, there are steps you can take to become a paid caregiver! This article shares how to become a paid caregiver in all 50 states. Or you can always call our team at Careforth to learn more. Caregivers of individuals who are eligible for Medicaid may receive financial support according to each state’s individual program requirements and the complexity of care needed.

How do I interact with my care team?

Once you are on our service, you have access to your care team through our secure collaboration app. You can send messages to ask questions or update them at any time. Your care team will also share resources and other information through messages and alerts within the app. In some states, your care team will visit your home to connect with you.
