Careforth Offers New Caregiving Coaching and Behavior Management Service for Family Caregivers in Indiana
The new service provides coaching and emotional support to family caregivers in Indiana.
Careforth, a leading provider of Structured Family Caregiving and caregiver supports, is expanding to offer Caregiver Coaching and Behavior Management, a new service that provides family caregivers in Indiana coaching and emotional support to help them care for their loved ones.
“At Careforth, we understand and appreciate the vital role caregivers play. It’s our mission to serve and support caregivers so they can confidently care for their loved ones at home,” said Matt Marek, President and Chief Executive Officer for Careforth. “With the launch of Caregiver Coaching and Behavior Management in Indiana, we’re thrilled that we are now able to extend our reach and serve more caregivers.”
Under this new service, family caregivers who play a role in managing the care of Medicaid members with chronic illnesses or disabilities will have access to a care coach and educational resources so they can care with confidence. Family caregivers will receive regular coaching from professionals who are experienced in working with family caregivers and will have access to their coach through Careforth’s secure mobile app.
The service is the first of its kind in the U.S., reflecting Indiana’s commitment to innovation in long-term care to enable more individuals to age, and receive services and supports for chronic illnesses or disabilities, in the comfort of their homes. Careforth has helped Indiana pioneer these efforts since 2013 when the State first started Structured Family Caregiving.
“We are pleased to launch this unique service in Indiana, a State at the forefront of delivering real and ongoing support to family caregivers,” said Kelli Tungate, Senior Vice President of Consumer Markets at Careforth. “There are more than 790,000 family caregivers across Indiana who have taken on substantial caregiving responsibilities for their parents, other relatives, and friends. The individual tasks they take on may be easy or hard, but together they can be overwhelming—physically and emotionally. We know caring for family can be challenging and lonely. We’re thrilled—and ready—to be able to bring our unique model of coaching support to caregivers.”
Careforth is a resource for thousands of families across the State, allowing families to connect with trained care teams to receive guidance on everything from managing daily personal care and medications to navigating the challenges and stresses of caregiving.
