Faces of Careforth: Dawn Middleton
Join us for our third installment of Faces of Careforth, a series where we take a closer look at the lives and careers of our amazing Careforth associates. We’ll share their unique journeys, learn about their day-to-day roles, and uncover the passion that drives them in their work.
This month, we interviewed Accounts Payable Supervisor Dawn Middleton. Dawn is approaching her 6th year at Careforth and is an instrumental member of the Finance team. Get to know Dawn in this month’s Faces of Careforth:
What is your role and how long have you worked at Careforth?
I’m an Accounts Payable Supervisor and I have worked for Careforth for five and a half years.
What inspired you to join our team?
I joined Careforth in December 2018, and my mom passed away a week later. My siblings and I were very fortunate to be able to care for our mom in her home. We all became her caregiver around the clock. My managers at Careforth sent flowers and attended my mom’s service. The support I received from my team was profound. I knew I would stay here.
How do you support families and caregivers?
I know that although I am not engaging with the families, I’m making a difference by making sure caregivers enrolled in our Structured Family Caregiving program are paid twice a month. I also ensure that the events we participate in are paid for in a timely manner, because these events help Careforth and caregivers who need support tremendously.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy my role on the finance team. I strongly believe that each department and employee at Careforth is linked in the shape of a circle; We all must do our part each day to make sure our circle is strong and shines like the sun. I believe we are successful because within this circle we provide excellent service and care to the families that need our help.
How do you maintain a positive work-life balance in this field?
Staying in balance will always come back to you, by truly loving what you do and believing that you are making a difference.
What is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is, “By their fruits, you shall know them.”
