What is your role and how long have you worked at Careforth?
I am a Senior Digital Product Manager and have worked at Careforth for three and a half years.
What inspired you to join our team?
The mission. Being a caregiver can be hard work, and I chose to join Careforth because I am passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of caregivers and their families. I had also worked with caregivers in a previous role, and I hoped that my experience could be helpful to this one.
How do you support families and caregivers in your role, and why is it important?
As a product manager, I work with a great team to develop the Careforth app. This is a tool designed to empower caregivers by providing them with a platform to seek support and gain valuable insights on how to care for their loved ones. Through the app, caregivers can access educational content, learn about essential resources, and connect with a team that understands their journey. The goal is to make caregiving a little easier and a lot more informed.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I love solving problems. It brings me joy to be able to make someone’s life easier. There is something incredibly rewarding about removing a barrier which helps someone succeed at what they are trying to do.
What’s something interesting about your job that people may not know?
I have the opportunity to work with a wide range of teams across the organization—from software developers and designers to clinical professionals, from legal to technical support. I get the chance to learn about each department and collaborate toward Careforth’s mission. No two days are the same, which keeps my role exciting.
How do you maintain a positive work-life balance in this field?
Getting out in nature and exercising. Every day I try to get out and move. It can be something as simple as a walk in the neighborhood or a hike up a mountain (which I reserve for the weekends). I take the whole family… sometimes begrudgingly! Being in nature is my happy place and it allows me to have better focus while at work.
What is one fun fact about you that your colleagues may not know about?
After I graduated from college, I lived in Galway, Ireland where I worked as a waitress at a pub. I met an amazing group of people from all over the world who were studying or just traveling, like me. It was a really fun part of my life.
