Celebrating 25 Years of Supporting Family Caregivers

When Careforth began 25 years ago, it wasn’t just about launching a company. It was about showing up for families who were overwhelmed, unseen, and doing everything they could to care for someone they love at home. That belief—that family caregivers matter—has fueled every step of our journey since.

Today, we celebrate a milestone that matters. Not because we’ve grown, but because we’ve helped caregivers across the country feel seen, supported, and valued.

Careforth’s Origin Story

From the beginning, our founders saw something others overlooked: the extraordinary value of family caregivers. They recognized that caregivers are the backbone of our healthcare system—and that they deserved more than just gratitude; they deserved real support.

Since then, our work has been defined by growth, innovation, and resilience. We have expanded into new states, rebranded to better reflect the heart of our mission, and continuously evolved our services. We pioneered ways to deliver coaching, emotional   support, and financial assistance at scale, using technology to bring connection and care directly into families’ homes through our mobile app and digital platforms. Our dedicated clinical professionals are at the heart of our services—they show up every day for family caregivers with knowledge, empathy, personalized support, and a deep understanding of what families are facing.

Over the past 25 years:

  • We’ve stood alongside tens of thousands of families.
  • We have served caregivers in 30 states and continue to expand.
  • Our dedicated team has grown to over 700 associates who live our mission every day.

Through it all, one thing has remained constant: our belief that family caregivers deserve to be seen, supported, and valued. That mission guided us at the beginning, and it drives us with even greater urgency today.

The Caregiver Crisis and Healthcare’s Future

When caregivers are left unsupported, the consequences ripple throughout the entire healthcare system—higher emergency room visits, worse health outcomes, and staggering rates of burnout that too often turn caregivers into patients themselves. Healthcare professionals, already stretched thin, are frequently called upon to fill gaps that could be closed with better caregiver support. That’s why we believe the future of healthcare must center around supported, educated, and connected caregivers.

We are building that future by:

  • Expanding our services to reach even more families.
  • Innovating through programs like Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) and Caregiver Coaching, offering tailored guidance and emotional support at critical moments.
  • Strengthening the use of technology to meet caregivers where they are, in ways that are accessible, personalized, and compassionate.

Championing Caregivers in Policy and Advocacy

True change requires action not only at the individual level, but also within our broader systems and policies. Over the past 25 years, we have advocated for legislative changes that recognize and support family caregiving as a vital part of healthcare.

Through strategic partnerships and expansion efforts, we have helped advocate for the adoption of SFC in multiple states. Our teams work alongside policymakers to ensure caregiver voices are heard at the highest levels.

Our work in this arena is far from over. We are committed to continuing to drive meaningful change to ensure that family caregivers receive the support they deserve.

The Culture That Drives Us

Careforth’s mission-first culture is the heartbeat of our company. Our core values—lead with heart, cultivate trust, and go beyond—reflect how we support caregivers, but also how we treat each other.

Many Careforth associates understand first-hand the realities of family caregiving. We know the work we do is personal. Every day, we are entrusted with the lives and well-being of families navigating some of their most vulnerable moments. That kind of responsibility requires more than skill—it requires empathy, humility, and a genuine commitment to making a difference. Our teams support caregivers through personal connection; they build trust, empower confidence, and become a lifeline for families navigating uncertainty.

This culture is what makes me most proud and most hopeful for what’s ahead.

Closing Reflections

25 years ago, we believed that we could build something that would change lives. Today, that vision feels more urgent—and more necessary—than ever. I am incredibly proud of how far we have come and even more excited about where we are going.

To every caregiver, associate, partner, and advocate who has been part of this journey: thank you. Together, we are redefining what it means to care at home—and we are just getting started. Here’s to what we’ve built together—and to the future we’ll shape, one caregiver at a time.
